McRae Leading Twins Rotation

Postby MINTwinsGM » Thu Nov 10, 2016 11:47 pm

Veteran Twins starter Carlos McRae is in the midst of a career year. That's saying a lot, considering in 2058 he went 23-3 with a 2.97 ERA and .609 OPS against. In 2061, he is on pace to make a run at his 2058 win total, but is currently blowing away the both his ERA and OPS numbers from that season. As things stand, he has a 2.31 ERA and .506 OPS against. Not bad for a guy who was slated as the team's 5th starter heading into the year.

The Twins lined up their rotation as Agwang, Bako, Nichols, Wolf and McRae. Bako has won his share of Cy Youngs, Wolf has one under his belt, McRae has finished 2nd and Nichols has finished 2nd. Only Agwang hasn't finished 1st or 2nd in the ballot in the past, but he arguably has the most talent of anyone in the league and has earned All-Fbsl honors in his young career. It's worth noting, the Twins setup their rotation for endurance considerations almost as much as they were ranking talent. In 2061, McRae and then Bako have clearly been the best. Bako's 2.42 ERA and .541 OPS are still within striking distance of McRae, although his 11 wins are not close to McRae's 15.

Wolf started hot, but has since cooled. Nichols and Agwang started slow, but have since brought their numbers back to a respectable level and seem ready to go for the stretch run. After losing the 2058 Cy Young race though, Carlos McRae seems motivated to rectify that, while trying to be a part of the Twins 2061 World Series run. Once again, the staff leads FBSL in OPS against. They are 3rd in the league in team ERA, behind ANA and STL.
