After stalling on 18 for what seemed to be ages, Twins long-time stud Carlos McRae finally reached the 20 win mark. He still has 2 starts left in 2061 and appears to have the inside track on the AL Cy Young, but a couple of Angels starters are in the mix as well at teammate Pedro Bako. Marshall and Milucek are real threats.
Tuning up for the playoffs, McRae's outings have been a little shorter as of late to minimize injury exposure. He reached 20 wins by throwing 6 innings of 1 run ball @ Boston, then 5 innings of 4 run ball @ home against the Yankees. He definitely relied on the offense to bail him out in the 2nd outing, but whatever works.
It will be interesting to see how the club lines up their playoff rotation. Clearly McRae and Bako have been the cream of the crop this year, with Timber Wolf also having an opportunity to eclipse his career high win total of 18. However, Nichols and Agwang (the youngsters) may be the most talented starters. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
