Ledbetter Staying Consistent

Postby MINTwinsGM » Thu Nov 24, 2016 3:02 pm

In his 2nd year in Minnesota, Yellow Ledbetter has been the silent assassin. He does it all, but none of it is necessarily flashy. He has some power, but not enough to overshadow the big slugger in the lineup. He plays stellar defense, but at 3B it often goes unnoticed compared to catcher, SS or CF. He is a professional.

2060: 285/379/455/834, 12 2b, 4 3b, 22 hr, 87 runs, 69 rbi, 77 bb, 35 k
2061: 278/387/424/811, 8 2b, 0 3b, 20 hr, 76 runs, 65 rbi, 83 bb, 30 k

Last year, he finished 2nd in the 3B All-Fbsl voting and he figures to be in the mix once again this year. When the year started, he was hitting 7th vsRHP and leadoff vsLHP. With Okrent struggling, Ledbetter was bumped up to 5th vsRHP, still leadoff vsLHP. He is a table setter in one lineup and a run producer in the other, but he does both with excellence. The aforementioned Okrent struggles, as well as an injury earlier in the season, have had Ledbetter playing some SS this year as well, vsRHP.

The Twins will have some decisions to make with Max Killebrew, Howard Johnson and Basher Peer Boom ready in the coming years, but Ledbetter is doing this part.
