McRae Stalls on 18 Wins

Postby MINTwinsGM » Tue Nov 22, 2016 6:05 pm

After rolling for a long time, Carlos McRae has stalled on 18 wins. He got hurt, missed a start, threw a shutout and then has gone winless in his last 3 starts. He pitched alright in both starts, particularly in 2 of the 3, but didn't get the run support to win any of them...

8/20: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 ER
8/25: 4 IP, 6 H, 2 ER
8/31: 6 1/3 IP, 5 H, 2 ER

On this team, 6 innings of 2 run ball will get you a while 8 out of 10 times. McRae still leads the AL with 18 wins. In fact, his closest suitor is teammate Timber Wolf at 15 wins. When you combine his win total with his 2.32 ERA and .516 OPS against, he is will likely still the man to beat in the Cy Young race. At this point, he will be hard pressed to match his 2058 win total, 23, as he would have to win out.
