The past two seasons, the Twins have pegged Hardwood Agwang as their ace going into the season. He has all the talent in the world, but of their staff he probably has the least polished resume. He has had a very solid career to date and, at 27, he has the majority of it ahead of him. In 2061, he got off to a rough start.
Going into July, he was coming off his worst start of the year against the Cards. 2 2/3 IP, 9 ER. It wasn't pretty. That outing saw his ERA balloon to 4.34 on the season. The team has seen that before. Prior to the 2059 playoffs, he got obliterated by the Jays and then reeled off a sick postseason run. This was similar...
7/2: 8 IP, 0 ER
7/10: 7 IP, 1 ER
7/15: 7 1/3 IP, 1 ER
7/20: 5 IP, 2 ER
7/25: 8 IP, 0 ER
7/31: 8 IP, 0 ER
July: 43 1/3 IP, 4 ER
Agwang's 0.83 ERA in July lowered his season ERA all the way from 4.34 to 3.18 going into August. More of that and he could find himself in All-Fbsl contention once again. Like last year, the Twins plan to go 5 deep in the playoff rotation to have their studs on full rest the entire time, barring injury. McRae is making another run at a Cy Young, Wolf has one, Nichols has finished 2nd twice and we all know what Pedro Bako has done. There is no reason for the team to skip anyone.
